Higher Diploma Programme Overview
The VTC offers around 100 government-subvented Higher Diploma (HD) programmes through its member institutions, including the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT), International Culinary Institute (ICI) and Chinese Culinary Institute (CCI).
With a typical study duration of two years, the HD programmes emphasise both theoretical knowledge and practical experience, catering to the diverse interests and capabilities of students. We provide internships that allow them to gain relevant experiences closely aligned with manpower demands.
Graduates can progress to continue their educational journey, advancing to degree programmes offered by local and overseas universities/institutions. This includes the top-up degree programmes offered by VTC’s Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi), and those offered by the School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) in collaboration with renowned universities from overseas and Mainland China. Our HD programmes are recognised by universities and the graduates’ competence is highly valued by the industry.
