Entrance Requirements
Five HKDSE subjects at Level 2 or above, including English Language and Chinese Language; OR VTC Diploma of Foundation Studies; OR VTC Diploma of Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Baccalaureate; OR Diploma Yi Jin; OR Equivalent.
Remarks :
  1. An "Attained", "Attained with Distinction (I)" and "Attained with Distinction (II)" in an HKDSE Applied Learning (ApL) subject (Category B subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2", "Level 3" and "Level 4" respectively, and a maximum of two ApL subjects (excluding ApL(C)) can be counted for admission purpose.
  2. A "Grade D or E" and a "Grade C or above" in an HKDSE Other Language subject (Category C subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2" and "Level 3" respectively, and one Other Language subject can be counted for admission purpose.
  3. Applicable to holders of Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education (DVE) (students admitted to DVE in AY2017/18 or before are required to complete prescribed further studies modules).
  4. Upon completion of the Diploma of Vocational Baccalaureate (DVB) Programmes, students can progress to higher diploma programmes in VTC, subject to their BTEC and IGCSE results.

Programme Aims
This programme prepares students for surveying professional careers in: (1) Building Surveying - planning, design and managing building projects; inspection of new and existing buildings; or (2) Quantity Surveying – financial planning and management, tendering and contract administration, value assessment and project management for construction projects.
 
This programme is designed with an emphasis on generic and language training, whole-person development and workplace experience to better prepare students for further studies and employment after graduation.

Career Prospects
Graduates may be employed as assistant building surveyors, assistant quantity surveyors, project coordinators, survey officers, building inspectors, maintenance supervisors, etc., and can also pursue further studies for career advancement to become professional surveyors.
Articulation
Graduates may apply for admission to relevant degree programmes offered by local and overseas universities,  including:
  1. BSc (Hons) in Surveying offered by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University
  2. BSc Surveying offered by the City University of Hong Kong
  3. BSc (Hons) in Surveying offered by the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi)
The level of exemption will be considered on individual basis.

Professional Recognition
This programme has been recognized as academic qualifications being of sufficient academic standard for entry to the Assessment of Professional Competence by the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS). Graduates with relevant working experience can apply as Probationer to undertake prescribed professional training (Normally not less than 36 months) and apply for HKIS Assessment of Professional Competence to admit as Associate Member or Member of HKIS.
 
This programme is widely accepted by the construction industry.  It is also accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers as a required academic qualification for their Associate Membership.
 
Graduates with relevant work experience are eligible to become Grades T1 to T3 of Technically Competent Person (TCP) of specific streams and scopes under the Site Supervision Plan System of the Buildings Ordinance.
 
Graduates completed the required module of the programme will be issued with Green Cards which fulfills the Mandatory Basic Safety Training requirement for working in construction sites.

This programme is a CIC-accredited BIM Coordinator (CCBC) Course*.
*Including a pass in the elective module “BIM for Reinforced Concrete Structure.”
