Programme Aims | The programme will provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to become competent professionals in mechanical engineering. Upon completion of the programme, graduates will have acquired the necessary academic, technical and management knowledge and skills which enable them to secure employment in the technical / operational / market development and follow-up services functions in the field of mechanical engineering. The programme is designed with an emphasis on generic and language training, whole-person development and workplace experience to better prepare students for further studies and employment after graduation. | |
Career Prospects | Graduates may be employed as assistant engineers, supervisors, technical officers, operations staff, services officers and computer-aided draftsmen in the areas of mechanical engineering, plant facilities repairs and maintenance, aircraft maintenance, theme park, E&M operation and maintenance, testing and inspection, product design, transportation and logistics, technical products services or utilities sectors. | |

Upon admission to relevant degree courses, graduates may apply for credit exemption. The level of exemption will be considered on an individual basis. Higher Diploma is recognised by most overseas universities. Graduates may further their studies for the top-up Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) (Honours) offered by RMIT University, Australia in collaboration with the School for Higher and Professional Education (SHAPE) of VTC (2-year full-time and 3-year part-time programme study in Hong Kong).
