Please login to the "VTC S6 Admission Portal" to check your offer results / finalised offer results from 16 Jul 9:00 a.m. onwards. If you are given a Firm Offer, you are required to follow the steps to complete the registration via the "VTC S6 Admission Portal":

  • confirm acceptance of offer from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on 16 Jul; and
  • download the payment advice and offer documents, pay the registration fee and upload the registration fee payment receipt to complete the registration by 21 Jul (12:00 noon).

Central Admission Scheme

Applicants may join the "Central Admission Scheme" via "VTC S6 Admission Portal" for admission to Full-time Degree, Higher Diploma, Diploma of Foundation Studies, Diploma of Vocational Education, Diploma programmes. Students may also go to campuses in person for joining the scheme and enquiry.

Applicants will be notified of the offer results on the day of submission of application.

Basic Information

The programme aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to enable them to pursue a career in the Building Services Engineering Industry. The equally important aim is to develop student's abilities to think clearly, assess problems critically, view work creatively and communicate effectively when working independently or as members of a team. The programme is designed with an emphasis on generic and language training, whole-person development and workplace experience to better prepare students for further studies and employment after graduation.

Professional Recognition

The programme has been fully accredited by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) as satisfying the academic requirements for Associate Member.

The programme is recognised by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department of the HKSAR as satisfying the academic requirements for registration as Grade B Registered Electrical Workers.

Graduates are eligible to apply for exemption for some modules of the Professional Diploma in Plumbing Engineering. The Professional Diploma is recognised by the Water Supplies Department as the Part 1 academic qualification for new Grade I Plumber’s License.

Graduates completed the required module of the programme will be issued with Green Cards which fulfill the Mandatory Basic Safety Training requirement for working in construction sites.

Remarks
  1. Students are required to follow the programme arrangements stipulated by IVE, on average 4 evenings per week, normally 3 semesters per academic year.
  2. Some modules of the programme offered by IVE (Morrison Hill) may be conducted at outside centre.

*Holders of HKDSE, should possess HKDSE Mathematics (Compulsory Part) / Mathematics Extended Part (Module 1 or Module 2) at Level 2 or above.
  1. Holders of VTC Foundation Diploma (Level 3) / Diploma of Foundation Studies / VTC Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education / Yi Jin Diploma / Diploma Yi Jin / Diploma of Applied Education without successful completion of the relevant optional Mathematics module, should possess HKDSE Mathematics / Mathematics Extended Part (Module 1 or Module 2) at Level 2 or above.
  2. Applicants can use HKDSE Applied Learning (ApL) subjects (except ApL Chinese) for admission purpose. An "Attained", "Attained with Distinction (I)" and "Attained with Distinction (II)" in an ApL subject (Category B subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2", "Level 3" and "Level 4" respectively for admission purpose.
  3. For 2024 HKDSE and before, a "Grade D or E" and a "Grade C or above" in an HKDSE Other Language subject (Category C subjects) are regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2" and "Level 3" respectively; From 2025 HKDSE onwards, Language Proficiency Level A2 or above in French / German / Spanish, N3 or above in Japanese and TOPIK II: Grade 3 or above in Korean are also recognised as one of the five HKDSE subjects in fulfilling the general entrance requirement. For details, please click here. One Other Language subject can be counted for admission purpose.
  4. An "Attained" in HKDSE Citizenship and Social Development is regarded as equivalent to an HKDSE subject at "Level 2" for admission purpose.
  5. If one of the five HKDSE subjects is Citizenship and Social Development, the general entrance requirement would become "Attained" for Citizenship and Social Development and Level 2 or above in four other HKDSE subjects including Chinese Language and English Language. Besides, Level 2 or above in Mathematics Extended Part (Module 1 or Module 2) is also recognised as one of the five HKDSE subjects in fulfilling the general entrance requirement. If applicants have taken both Module 1 and Module 2, either one of the modules (with a higher level) will be counted for admission purpose.
  6. HKCEE English Language taken in 2006 or before should have attained Grade E or above (Syllabus B) / Grade C or above (Syllabus A).
  7. Applicable to holders of Diploma in Vocational Education / Diploma of Vocational Education (DVE) (students admitted to DVE in AY2017/18 or before are required to complete prescribed further studies modules).
  8. Upon completion of the Diploma of Vocational Baccalaureate (DVB) programmes, students can progress to Higher Diploma programmes in VTC, subject to their BTEC and IGCSE results.
  9. Applications with work experience and/or prior qualification(s) submitted will be assessed individually by the departments concerned.
  10. The applicants should be under the relevant employment.

Career Prospects
Graduates may be employed as assistant engineers, technicians, supervisors, maintenance & operations staff, building services officers in various areas of infrastructure development and construction related projects including new developments, urban renewal projects, maintenance and upgrading of existing services. Nature of work varies from building services design and installation to facility management.
