The “Dr Ng Tat-lun Memorial Outstanding Students Award Scheme” was established with the strong support of the late Dr Ng Tat-lun. Each year, seven Higher Diploma students from different disciplines and three Diploma students are selected. These ten awardees have all demonstrated outstanding performance in academic achievement, leadership, and personal qualities.

The Awardee Recognition and Sharing Session was held on 9 June 2026 at the IVE (Morrison Hill). Guests included Deputy Executive Director of VTC, Ms Gladys YAM and Ms Florence CHAN, together with campus and discipline representatives, teachers, and last year’s awardees, who gathered to congratulate this year’s recipients. During the session, the awardees shared their personal stories of finding direction through VPET study beyond the traditional education pathway, receiving enormous support from teachers, and blossoming in their respective fields.

This year’s awardees specially created a commemorative piece titled “The Tree of Growth” to express their gratitude to Mrs Millen NG and Ms Irene NG. The souvenir was conceptualized from scratch and jointly crafted by the ten awardees through cross-disciplinary collaboration. The tree is decorated with handwritten messages of appreciation, accompanied by character standees, and features pre-recorded audio playback, preserving their heartfelt gratitude in a lasting and meaningful form.

We sincerely thank Dr Ng Tat-lun’s family for their continuous support of VTC students over the years, enabling them to bloom and shine across different fields.
