Chairman's Message

The Vocational Training Council (VTC), established as a statutory body in Hong Kong, has been upholding its mission of nurturing diverse professional talents for the society for over four decades. Throughout these years, the VTC has dedicatedly provided vocational and professional education and training (VPET) that swiftly adapts to evolving manpower needs, cultivating outstanding professionals across various sectors to provide strong support to drive Hong Kong’s economic and social advancement.

It is my honour to be appointed as the Chairman of the VTC. Leveraging my expertise and years of experience across different sectors, I am committed to steering the VTC towards its vision of becoming the leading provider of VPET in the region.

It is now a pivotal moment for Hong Kong to attract high-calibre talents from around the world, solidifying its strategic development of the “Eight Centres” and forging ahead the advancement of key industries in artificial intelligence (AI), innovation and technology, new energy, and new industrialisation. To capture these immense opportunities, the VTC will strategically focus on curriculum enhancement, upgrade of training facilities and fortifying AI training. Through strengthened collaboration between industry and education sectors, we aspire to develop a skilled workforce with the competencies to meet industry demands.

Talent is the core driving force behind Hong Kong's sustainable development. I look forward to working with all our partners to nurture competitive professionals. Through collective efforts and determination, I am confident that VPET talent will continue injecting momentum and vitality into the society and forging an even brighter future for Hong Kong.
