Occupational Health and Safety
Misson
At VTC, fostering a positive culture that embraces occupational safety and well-being of all is our priority. Through proactive risk management, regulatory compliance, robust policies, comprehensive training, and open communication, we establish occupational health and safety as core values, preventing accidents and promoting overall well-being.
We empower each individual to take responsibility for their occupational safety and that of others. Through the integration of occupational health and safety into the Council’s educational and operational activities, we strive to cultivate a healthy and safe work environment where everyone thrives, free from preventable incidents and health concerns.
Policy
The Vocational Training Council is committed to ensuring the health and safety of all staff, associates, students, trainees and visitors. To uphold this commitment, the Council regularly reviews its occupational health and safety policy and proactively responds to statutory health and safety requirements, ensuring that everyone involved operates within a healthy and safe environment. Occupational health and safety are a shared responsibility for all of us. It is incumbent upon the heads of all operational units in the Council to convey health and safety messages to their staff regularly.
The Council takes every possible step to:
- foster a healthy and safe working culture within the VTC;
- provide and ensure a healthy and safe environment for all users and visitors of the premises;
- eliminate or reduce any possible hazards arising from activities;
- provide health and safety training to staff, students and trainees;
- maintain and ensure all equipment and plant in the VTC are of a statutory safety standard;
- implement safe working procedures;
- conduct periodic health and safety audits to ensure compliance with all applicable statutory requirements across VTC operations; and
- dedicate appropriate resources, as available, to support full compliance with this policy.
