Major Duties: |
(a) |
To perform teaching duties, including supervision of students’ projects; |
(b) |
To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration; |
(c) |
To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials; and |
(d) |
To participate in projects and functions of the Language Centre and the campus, where necessary. |

Requirements: |
(a) |
(i) |
Applicants should have a recognised degree in one of the following areas:
English Language / English Language and Literature / Language Studies (English) / Linguistics / Education (English) / English Communication / Translation (English), preferably with post-graduate qualifications; |
|
(ii) |
Applicants with the following qualifications may also apply:
A recognised degree in a non-relevant field; AND a relevant English teaching qualification, such as Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma in Education (Major in English), Teaching English as a Second Language or Teaching English as a Foreign Language or Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA / Trinity CertTESOL and English-teaching certification recognized by TESL Canada) or English for Specific Purposes (ESP). A transcript with course details including the number of hours of instruction and practicum should be provided for consideration. |
(b) |
At least 3 years’ relevant teaching experience; |
(c) |
Good communication skills, interpersonal skills and presentation skills; |
(d) |
Good problem-solving and time management skills; and |
(e) |
Ability to work independently and in teams. |

(1) |
Applicants with less experience may be considered for the post of Part-time Assistant Lecturer, at the rank of “Teaching Associate”. |
(2) |
Shortlisted applicants will be required to take a written assessment. |
