    Senior Lecturer (Health and Life Sciences)
    Youth College

    Major Duties :
    (a) To take a leading role in the development, validation and accreditation of programmes;
    (b) To act as Programme Leader and serve in Programme Board(s), Boards of Examiners and other academic / management committees and work groups as required;
    (c) To assist the Youth College (YC) site-in-charge to oversee the daily operation of the College / academic sections / supporting units of the site(s);
    (d) To develop and review quality policies for the discipline / operational unit, and to be responsible for maintaining the standard and quality of the training programmes;
    (e) To explore new opportunities and develop new services / programmes for the discipline / operational unit, such as developing consultancy and in-service training programmes;
    (f) To actively participate in networking with industry, professional bodies and tertiary institutions on collaborative arrangement, industry-based student projects, and publicity and promotional activities of the YCs.; and
    (g) To perform teaching duties and supervise student projects where necessary.
     
    Requirements :
    (a) A recognised degree in Healthcare, Life Sciences, Chemistry or equivalent, preferably with a post-graduate qualification or professional qualification in Health and Life Sciences related discipline;
    (b) At least 5 years’ relevant teaching and / or industry experience at an appropriate level of responsibility;
    (c) Good administrative, interpersonal, communication and team-building skills, ability to work independently under tight timelines and resource constraints with proactive attitude and strong initiative;
    (d) Good presentation skills and high level of proficiency in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua;
    (e) Strong commitment to serve the youth and with experience in supporting students with diverse learning needs; and
    (f) Good linkage with the industry would be an advantage.
     
    Notes:
    (1) Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply.
    (2) Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment.
    (3) The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and / or outside campus.
