      Mr Patrick LAM, Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FSE Lifestyle states that the collaboration with VTC can combine our resources and expertise to offer practical on-the-job training for more trainees, helping them enhance their skills and pave the way for their future careers

    The Vocational Training Council (VTC) and FSE Lifestyle Services Limited (“FSE Lifestyle”) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly promote the development of Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET), and deepen multifaceted collaboration. Aimed at nurturing a diverse pool of vocational talent to drive Hong Kong’s long-term social and economic growth, this collaboration will provide VTC students with expanded internships and employment opportunities, project collaborations, and support the Vocational Professionals Admission Scheme (VPAS).

    The signing ceremony of the MoU took place last Friday (1 August) at the Learning Resources Centre of the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), a member institution of VTC. Witnessed by Mr Donald TONG, Executive Director of VTC and Mr Patrick LAM, Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FSE Lifestyle, the MoU was signed by Dr Michael WANG, Deputy Executive Director of VTC and Mr Alvin LEE, Executive Director of FSE Lifestyle. 

    In his address, Mr Donald TONG, Executive Director of VTC, remarked that as the largest VPET provider in Hong Kong, VTC has been committed to fostering close collaboration with industries. Through the provision of forward-looking and high-quality VPET, VTC addresses the needs of society and nurtures skilled talent across various sectors, powering Hong Kong’s development. He expressed gratitude to FSE Lifestyle for their strong support in VTC’s vocational education and talent nurturing. VTC will continue to strengthen its partnership with industries and offer quality VPET, aiming to cultivate competitive professionals for Hong Kong, the nation, and particularly the Greater Bay Area.

    Mr Patrick LAM, Executive Vice-Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FSE Lifestyle, stated, “As Hong Kong's society and economy continue to grow, the demand for professional talents in the market is increasing. We must actively provide effective human resources to assist more individuals integrate into the workforce. Therefore, through this collaboration with VTC, we can combine our resources and expertise to offer practical on-the-job training for more trainees, helping them enhance their skills and pave the way for their future careers. VTC has a comprehensive vocational and professional education and training system that aligns with the needs of local society. FSE Lifestyle is pleased to partner with VTC, and we hope to cultivate more outstanding talents through practice and innovation, contributing to society.”

    The MoU signifies the commitment of both parties to a long-term partnership. FSE Lifestyle will offer a diverse range of learning opportunities, including internships, graduate employment opportunities and mentorship, for VTC students of Higher Diploma programmes in Engineering, Health and Life Sciences and Business Disciplines. To further strengthen the practical skills of VTC students, FSE Lifestyle will collaborate with VTC on various project collaborations and organise in-class sharing. These initiatives will help students stay abreast of the latest industry trends and insights, equipping them with the essential skills to enhance their employability and career competitiveness.

    In support of the HKSAR Government’s VPAS, FSE Lifestyle will provide internships, scholarships and employment opportunities to VTC non-local students studying VPAS eligible VTC full-time Higher Diploma (2-year) programmes, further expanding Hong Kong’s vocational talent pool. Meanwhile, VTC will offer in-service training for FSE Lifestyle’s employees to support their continuous professional development and help them adapt to the rapidly evolving demands of the industry.

    VTC and FSE Lifestyle have been close partners over the years. Since 2023, over a hundred VTC graduates joined FSE Lifestyle each year and worked in areas such as property and facility management, electrical and mechanical engineering, and integrated lifestyle services. Additionally, over a hundred VTC students have participated in FSE Lifestyle’s internship and apprenticeship programmes and gained valuable hands-on experience.  

    The signing of this MoU not only provides VTC students with enhanced learning opportunities and resources, but also deepens collaborations between academia and industry. It injects new momentum into the sector, nurturing more competitive talent for Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and the nation.
