Announcement of New Directorate Appointment

Ir Dr WANG Fu-lee, Philips

Ir Dr Wang has been appointed as Senior Assistant Executive Director. He assumes the role of Principal of Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology (HKIIT) and concurrently as Academic Director of the Information Technology (IT) Discipline. He is responsible primarily for leading the strategic development of the IT Discipline.

Ir Dr Wang is a seasoned IT professional with over 25 years of experience in the higher education sector. Prior to this appointment, he has served in various senior administrative roles at several local universities. He also led several digitalization projects funded by the Education Bureau, the University Grants Committee, and The Hong Kong Jockey Club, ranging from smart classrooms and e-assessment systems to AI-driven automation.

Ir Dr Wang holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering (The University of Hong Kong), a Master of Business Administration (Imperial College London, United Kingdom), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (The Chinese University of Hong Kong). His professional qualifications / memberships include Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (FHKIE), Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET), and Fellow of the British Computer Society, The Chartered Institute for IT (FBCS).
