    The Vocational Training Council (VTC) and Sino Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly nurture talents with professional knowledge and practical skills for the property management industry, and tie in with the Government’s Vocational Professionals Admission Scheme (VPAS).

    The signing ceremony of the MoU took place at the Shatin campus of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), a VTC’s member institution, recently. Witnessed by Dr Alaina SHUM, Deputy Executive Director of VTC and Victor TIN, Executive Director of Sino Land Company Limited, the MoU was signed by James YAP, Academic Director of Business Discipline of VTC and Nelson CHIU, Associate Director of Sino Property Services. Through this collaboration, VTC and Sino Group will support non-local students of the Higher Diploma in Real Estate and Property Management of IVE, which is one of the VPAS eligible VTC full-time Higher Diploma (2-year) programmes.

    At the ceremony, Dr Alaina SHUM, Deputy Executive Director of VTC, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Sino Group for its staunch support to VTC students, including the provision of internship opportunities, tuition fee sponsorship and conditional offers of employment to selected students for joining Sino Group’s property management team. VTC believed that the MoU will start a new chapter of talent cultivation of property management through vocational and professional education and training (VPET), fostering a sustainable talent pool to tackle the challenges in the ever-changing property management market.

    Victor TIN, Executive Director of Sino Land Company Limited, remarked that the HKSAR Government has been actively broadening avenues for talent acquisition, fostering the exchange, development, and integration of talent from both local and mainland sources. Sino Group remains committed to a people-centric philosophy, and through various recruitment and training programmes, the company attracts talents from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, enabling them to leverage their strengths and learn from one another. At present, over a hundred professionals from the mainland have joined the Group’s property management and hotel operations in Hong Kong, bringing fresh vitality to the teams. Mr TIN believes that the Higher Diploma in Real Estate and Property Management, as one of the VPAS eligible programmes, will contribute to the cultivation of young professionals equipped with practical skills. It is anticipated that collaboration with VTC will be enhanced through joint training initiatives, internship opportunities, and knowledge exchange, all aimed at equipping students with essential skills and industry experience, thereby establishing a robust talent pipeline for the property management sector and driving its sustainable development.

    Under the MoU, Sino Group will select non-local students of IVE’s Higher Diploma in Real Estate and Property Management and provide them with internship opportunities, allowing them to accumulate practical experience in residential, commercial and integrated development projects through on-the-job training in smart property management and sustainable development. Interns with outstanding performance will be given priority for full-time employment at Sino Group's property management team. Sino Group will also provide tuition fee sponsorship for selected students.

    In the face of the latest industry development trends, VTC and Sino Group will work hand in hand to provide students with diverse learning opportunities and equip them with the professional skills and knowledge for the workplace, empowering them to contribute to the property management industry upon graduation.
