VTC signs MoU with Hong Yip to strengthen VPET training for the property and facility management industry and deepen industry‑institution collaboration

The Vocational Training Council (VTC) and Hong Yip Service Company Limited (Hong Yip) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to deepen their multifaceted collaboration in nurturing talent for the property and facility management industry. This collaboration aims to jointly promote Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET), further expand Hong Kong’s talent pool and foster the integration of talent development with industry needs.
The signing ceremony of the MoU took place last Friday (10 October) at the VTC Innovation and Technology Co-creation Centre. Witnessed by Tony TAI, Chairman of VTC and Alkin KWONG, Chairman and Chief Executive of Hong Yip, the MoU was signed by Donald TONG, Executive Director of VTC and Cimmy YUEN, Director of Hong Yip.
In his address, Tony TAI, Chairman of VTC, remarked that as the largest VPET provider in Hong Kong, VTC has been committed to fostering close collaboration with industries. Through the provision of forward-looking VPET, VTC responds flexibly to the evolving demand for professional talent across different sectors. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Hong Yip for its continued support of VTC and VPET. VTC will continue to strengthen industry‑institution partnerships through diverse collaborations, further enhancing the quality and effectiveness of VPET to benefit more students and enterprises.
Alkin KWONG, Chairman and Chief Executive of Hong Yip said, “We are very pleased to have entered into this in-depth collaboration with VTC. This MoU not only signifies our support for students, but also a commitment to the future development of the industry. According to the MoU, VTC and Hong Yip will strengthen the collaboration in VPET, working together to build a quality talent pool in Hong Kong that supports the sustainable development of the property and facility management industry. Hong Yip will provide VTC students and graduates with industrial attachment and employment opportunities, covering Higher Diploma programmes in various disciplines including Business, Hospitality, Engineering, Information Technology, Health and Life Sciences, as well as programmes offered by VTC’s member institutions, Youth College and Integrated Vocational Development Centre (IVDC).
Hong Yip will also actively support VTC in organising career exploration activities, with the aim of offering students opportunities to gain deeper insight into various industries. These initiatives will assist students in enhancing their practical skills, staying abreast of the latest industry developments and knowledge, and preparing well for their future professional development. Both parties will also arrange various project-based collaborations to promote professional development in the industry.
In support of the HKSAR Government’s Vocational Professionals Admission Scheme (VPAS), Hong Yip will explore providing internship, scholarship, and post-graduation employment opportunities to non-local students enrolled in VPAS eligible VTC full-time Higher Diploma (2-year) programmes, to nurture and attract more vocational professionals with specialised knowledge and skills.
