VTC releases the first Sustainability Report

The Vocational Training Council (VTC) has released its inaugural Sustainability Report 2023-24, highlighting VTC's efforts in environmental protection and sustainable development. The report demonstrates VTC's commitment to sustainable development and its support for the Government's “Hong Kong’s Climate Action Plan 2050” to achieve carbon neutrality.

The report showcases VTC's initiatives in reducing its carbon footprint, promoting environmental education and enhancing community engagement. As a leading provider of vocational and professional education and training in Hong Kong, VTC actively addresses climate change and strives to create a more climate-resilient future. VTC has systematically implemented sustainable development policies and formulated a carbon reduction plan in 2022. In Academic Year 2023/24, VTC conducted carbon audits on 38 premises and implemented energy management measures, including introducing green building design and technology applications, adopting high-efficiency and energy-saving facilities, and optimising resource management throughout operations.

The report also emphasises the collaborative efforts and contributions across VTC’s operational units, disciplines and campuses, fostering sustainable development in vocational and professional education and training.

Established in 1982, the Vocational Training Council (VTC) is the largest vocational and professional education and training provider in Hong Kong. The mission of VTC is to provide a valued choice to school leavers and working people to acquire the values, knowledge and skills for lifelong learning and enhanced employability, and also to provide support to industries for their manpower development.
