VTC holds Flag Raising Ceremony in celebration of the 77th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China

The Vocational Training Council (VTC) held a flag raising ceremony today (30 September) to celebrate the 77th Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.  VTC Chairman Jeffrey LAM, Deputy Chairman Paul CHONG, Council Members, together with the management, staff and students, celebrated the National Day together and extend their best wishes for the continued prosperity of the nation.

Team Hong Kong, China achieved an outstanding result at the WorldSkills Competition 2026 held recently in Shanghai, winning one Silver Medal and 14 Medals for Excellence, the highest number of awards ever attained by the team at the Competition.  The team, comprising VTC students and graduates, showcased the exceptional skills of Hong Kong’s young talent and the achievements of vocational and professional education and training (VPET) in talent development.  

VTC will continue to leverage its strengths in VPET to nurture future talent in alignment with Hong Kong’s First Five-Year Plan, support industrial innovation, and contribute to the high-quality development of the nation and Hong Kong.
