14 Jan 2026
The Tin Ka Ping Foundation (hereafter “the Foundation”) has always upheld its mission of improving the quality of education in China, integrating world civilizations, and contributing to national development. Since 2019, the Foundation has sponsored VTC students to participate in trade-related cultural exchange programmes in the four regions across the strait, Greater China, and cities along the Belt and Road Initiative. Through outbound volunteer service, the initiative also nurtures students' qualities as "global citizens". Over the past two years, students have stepped out of Hong Kong to carry out volunteer services in Cambodia and Mongolia, gaining invaluable cross-cultural experiences.
On 14 January 2026, representatives from the VTC’s Institutional Advancement Office and the Student Development Office, together with student delegates, visited the Foundation to share their experiences and reflections from these outbound service experiences. During their volunteer work, students helped improve local community facilities and interacted with youth, deepening their appreciation for cross-cultural collaboration and mutual understanding. Through teamwork and overcoming challenges in unfamiliar environments, they learned to maintain a positive mindset and demonstrated resilience and perseverance.
The sharing by the students fully reflects the fruitful outcomes of the Foundation’s support. Benefiting from the Foundation’s sponsorship, they have not only broadened their horizons and achieved personal growth but have also extended this spirit of “helping others” by giving back to society. In this way, the value of the Foundation continues to be inherited and advanced by the younger generation.
