The 39th Awards Presentation Ceremony of the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund (SEYMF) was held at Hong Kong City Hall on 22 March 2026. Nine hundred and fifty-eight students, four apprentices and five working adults were presented with scholarships and awards. Among the recipients, 17 prizes were awarded to VTC students, including one for a student with disability, 12 for Diploma students and four for outstanding apprentices.
YUE On-lam, an outstanding final-year student of the Higher Diploma in Special Child Care and Inclusive Education from the Childcare, Elderly and Community Services Discipline, was selected as the sole recipient of the Scholarship for Disabled Students. Yue is a student with a congenital visual impairment. Inspired and selflessly supported by the teachers and therapists who accompanied her throughout her development, she is determined to devote herself to early childhood special-needs care and inclusive education. She hopes that, by drawing on her own life experience, she can one day walk alongside young children with special needs and their families, helping them feel supported and empowered.
