Rotary Hong Kong Vocational Scholarship Supports over 160 VPET Students – Empower Youth for the Future, Create Hope in the World

"Rotary Hong Kong Vocational Scholarship Awardees Sharing Session" was held at the Metaverse Innovation Centre, Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Sha Tin). Members of the Rotary International District 3450 (RID3450), VTC representatives, alumni, and awardees gathered to share the joy and accomplishments of the awardees. The guests also visited the RID3450 Learning Resources Centre on the campus.
Mr Andy LI, District Governor of the RID3450, attended as the Guest of Honor and emphasized the importance of caring for society while pursuing academic excellence, and expressed his wish for the students to strive relentlessly towards their dreams, never giving up on their aspirations. Ms Alaina SHUM, Deputy Executive Director of the VTC, thanked the RID3450 for their continuous support to VTC and Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) for years, which empowers the upward mobility of youth and creates hope in the world. Two awardees of the current cohort - Huge HON and Ruby JIAN and alumni - Ms Amelia YU and Mr Billy CHEUNG, expressed their sincere gratitude to the RID3450 for relieving their financial burden and enabling them to improve their academic performance. They were also motivated by the Scholarship to uphold Rotary values to serve people and spread hope in society.
With the staunch support of RID3450, the Scholarship was established in 2015. Since its inception, more than 310 scholarships have been awarded to over 160 students. The Scholarship aims to encourage students to progress upward along the VPET articulation pathway from Diploma, Higher Diploma to Degree levels and greatly contribute to VPET and youth development in Hong Kong.
