An award presentation ceremony cum awardee sharing session of the "Dr Ng Tat-lun Memorial Outstanding Students Award Scheme 2024" was held on 19 July 2024 at IVE(Morrison Hill) to honor ten students, with one selected from each of the seven Academic Disciplines for the Higher Diploma programme and three from the Diploma programmes.

Established by the late Dr Ng Tat-lun, the Award Scheme aims to recognize students who have demonstrated outstanding performance in the Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) study pathway, along with a strong commitment to both the institution and community.  Hence, all the awardees exhibit excellence in leadership, personal attributes, extracurricular activities and community service.

The Award Presentation Ceremony was officiated by Ms Irene Ng, daughter of Dr Ng Tat-lun.  Ms Alaina Shum, Deputy Executive Director of VTC, thanked Ms Irene Ng and her family for their enduring support of VTC in the opening remark.  She also encouraged the awardees to demonstrate resilience, a willingness to persevere in face of challenges and to be more attentive to their surroundings.  Dr Michael Wang, Ms Gladys Yam and Mr Edmond Yu, Deputy Executive Directors of VTC, along with several VTC staff members, attended the ceremony to congratulate the deserving awardees.  Awardees of the previous years also joined the event.  Following the ceremony, awardees shared their campus life and the impact of receiving the award with Ms Irene Ng.

The Award Scheme has benefitted numerous outstanding students since its establishment, with nearly two hundred VTC students being recognized.  These students have made remarkable contributions to vocational education and youth development in Hong Kong.
