In appreciation of the unwavering support from the Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (the CMA) and CMA Testing over the decades to VTC, a ceremony was held on 14 February 2025 to officially name the Learning Resources Centre at the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) of Chai Wan campus after the CMA, and the multi-purpose room in the Learning Resources Centre after CMA Testing.
During the ceremony, Dr Wingco LO, BBS, JP, President of the CMA, reaffirmed the CMA’s commitment to its mission, through its partnership with VTC, to nurture young talents in acquiring the necessary skill sets and to meet the evolving demands of Hong Kong’s economic restructuring and technological advancement. Dr Eric LIU, Acting Executive Director of the VTC, expressed gratitude to the CMA and CMA Testing for their invaluable contributions and dedication to nurturing VPET talents. The contribution has empowered VTC to attract non-local students to enrol in the Vocational and Professional Admission Scheme (VPAS) -eligible full-time Higher Diploma programmes, thereby nurturing a pool of skilled workforce to sustain the economic development of Hong Kong.
The contributions are designated to offer scholarships and recognition awards for non-local students, as well as support student activities, to foster cultural exchanges and promote inclusion among both local and non-local students across various VTC campuses.
