Announcement of New Directorate Appointment

Ir Lai Chi-fai

Ir Lai Chi-fai has been appointed as Assistant Executive Director. He assumes the role of Vice Principal of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) to supervise the campus facility management and steer the development of a smart and green campus.

Ir Lai possesses over 30 years’ experience in the aviation industry with extensive knowledge in airlines operation, aircraft heavy and line maintenance activities. Prior to this appointment, he had served senior executive roles in various regional and global companies including Cathay Pacific Airlines, Hong Kong Airlines, Hong Kong Aircraft Engineering Co. Ltd. and ST Aerospace Services Co Pte Ltd.

Ir Lai holds a Master Degree in Engineering Management (University of Technology, Sydney), a Higher Certificate in Mechanical Engineering (Hong Kong Polytechnic University) and a Diploma in Aircraft Engineering (Hong Kong Polytechnic University). He also holds Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licenses Category B1 awarded by the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Authority and Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. Ir Lai is a Registered Professional Engineer (Aircraft) and a member of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers.
