Mr Paul TAI Lun was conferred the VTC Honorary Fellowship by Secretary for the Civil Service, Mrs Ingrid YEUNG HO Poi-yan, JP

Mr Paul TAI is the Regional Director - Far East of Mainetti Group.  He is also a Chartered Accountant of Singapore and the United Kingdom, and a Certified Public Accountant of Hong Kong.  Under his leadership, the Group has grown from a start-up to an establishment with more than 10 operations in Asia.
 

Mr Tai has made numerous contributions to the industry.  He received the Young Industrialist Award of Hong Kong in 2012 and was the President of Hong Kong Young Industrialists Council (HKYIC) in 2021/2022.  During the pandemic, Mr Tai supported the community’s health protection by launching a new Business-to-Customer (B2C) business in the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) market.  The face masks created by the Group were provided to the Hong Kong, China Delegation participating in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, with a patent right granted in China.
 

Mr Tai is supportive of institute-industry collaborations.  He is the Chairman of Fashion and Image Advisory Board of Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), VTC and played a pivotal role in developing industry partnerships worldwide.  One of the achievements is connecting HKDI to Dalang Fashion Valley in the Greater Bay Area.  In addition to providing the internship programme to VTC staff, Mr Tai has provided scholarships and industry collaborative projects to around 200 HKDI students in producing face masks and PPE.  He also facilitated the collaboration between VTC and HKYIC to provide internship opportunities for 130 VTC students under the Suzhou industrial attachment programme during 2015 – 2019.
 

Since 2015, Mr Tai has extended generous support in vocational and professional education and training, including the establishment of Fashion Archive in HKDI and significant design events such as Annual Graduation Show and the Hong Kong Denim Festival.  With his impactful contribution, HKDI collaborated with HKYIC to promote Hong Kong’s creative industry and technological advancement under “Hatch Creativity Scheme”.  The commercialisation of a Red Dot award-winning project by HKDI alumni – Yuen Sek Tableware, is one of the prominent achievements.  About 40 VTC staff, 800 students and alumni have enhanced their exposure and job knowledge from Mr Tai’s dedicated contributions over the years.
