Kenny Tsang, a Higher Diploma in Architectural Design student, has benefitted greatly from his exchange and learning trip to Denmark. Reeling off his experiences, he said: “Bagsværd Church, designed by the Sydney Opera House architect Jørn Utzon, looks like a factory from outside. The interior features an oval design for light reflection to evoke a somber yet warm ambience. During my visit to Aarhus University, I came across a lot of building materials I had never seen before, which prompted me to think about how I could use them in design work. There were also a bank building built of a pile of rocks and a subterranean art exhibition, called “The Water”, inside a former reservoir. In design, it is necessary to think out of the box, where we can adopt multiple mindsets to transcend boundaries and fuel our creative thinking!”
