Aspiring to a nursing career, Stephanie Fung, a Higher Diploma in Health Studies student, had the opportunity for academic exchange with several universities in Manchester, United Kingdom, where she experienced some advanced simulation-based education facilities. “Inside the scenario simulation training room at Edge Hill University, we performed emergency rescue on lifelike manikins at a traffic accident site, created through realistic projections. At Salford University, instructors made use of infant-like models to teach us professional care on newborns and cardiopulmonary resuscitation methods designed for infants.” Such trainings have not only enhanced my professional skills but also enabled me to apply what I have learned more confidently in a real-life setting. It has also triggered my interest in exploring the medical developments of other countries. I will continue to work hard in the hope of becoming an excellent nurse!”
