10 Jun 2021

Rotary Hong Kong Vocational Scholarship Awardee Sharing Session 2020/21 was held for the first time in live webcast on 10 June 2021, during which the donors met the awardees online and shared their joy and learning experience. The Executive Director of the VTC, Mrs Carrie Yau, thanked the Rotary International District 3450 (RID 3450) for the continuous support to VTC and Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) for years. The District Governor of Rotary International District 3450, Dr Eric CHAK, encouraged awardees to seize the opportunity to develop their expertise as well as to master the use of advanced technology during the COVID-19 pandemic, and give back to the society in future.  During the event, three awardees from Diploma of Foundation Studies shared their remarkable learning experiences in VPET study and caring actions in the community after class, such as visits to the singleton elderly and participation in eco-friendly activities.

In recognition of the contribution of RID 3450, in addition to “Rotary International District 3450 Learning Resources Centre” at IVE(Shatin), a recognition plaque has newly set up at the campus of THEi(Chai Wan) this year to recognize the major donors who supported the Scholarship over the years.

The Rotary Hong Kong Vocational Scholarship was established in 2015 to encourage students to progress upwards along the VPET articulation pathway. The Scholarship opens to VTC students from Diploma of Foundation Studies, Higher Diploma and Degree programmes.  Over 140 students have benefited from the Scholarship since inception.
