Equipping the Youth with Putonghua Proficiency

We express our deepest appreciation to the Drs. Richard Charles and Esther Yewpick Lee Charitable Foundation for its generous third donation in supporting VTC’s new Experiential Learning Award starting from the 2022/23 academic year.

The Experiential Learning Award entails a comprehensive sponsorship scheme aiming at strengthening the Putonghua capabilities of VTC students.  It provides support for students to attend a preparatory course and subsequently undertake the National Shuiping Ceshi, and sponsors them to participate in semester-based collaborative programmes of their trade of study in Mainland China.

In the 2022/23 academic year, we were delighted to witness some 150 students benefitting from this Award which is particularly open to financially disadvantaged students, providing them assistance as they embark on their careers that proficiency of Putonghua is required in the workplace, and equipping them with necessary skills and resources to seize unprecedented opportunities in the Greater Bay Area.
