    Vocational Training Council (VTC) & Shenzhen Polytechnic sign framework agreement to explore collaboration in vocational and professional education and training.

The Vocational Training Council (VTC) and the Shenzhen Polytechnic signed a framework agreement today (15 December). The two education providers will continue the collaboration and join hands to explore the joint development of programmes, internships and student/staff exchanges to enrich the teaching and learning experiences offered by vocational and professional education and training (VPET).
 
Representing the two parties, the Executive Director of VTC, Dr Carrie YAU and the Vice President (Standing) of Shenzhen Polytechnic, Dr LI Yue signed the framework agreement via the online platform. The signing ceremony was witnessed by the Chairman of VTC, Mr Tony TAI and the Secretary of Party Committee and President of Shenzhen Polytechnic, Dr YANG Xinbin. Other guests who delivered speeches at the ceremony included the Permanent Secretary for Education of the HKSAR Government, Ms Michelle LI Mei-sheung, Director of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of the Department of Education of Guangdong Province, Mr LI Jinjun, and Deputy Director of the Department of Educational, Scientific and Technological Affairs of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the HKSAR, Professor XU Kai.
 
Over the years, the VTC and the Shenzhen Polytechnic have been collaborating in different forms, including collaboration in providing the Electrical Services Stream under the Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering programme and organising student and staff exchanges. Since 2017, the VTC and Shenzhen Polytechnic have also had knowledge exchange in talent development through organising different international VPET conferences. In the future, the two parties will continue to explore the joint development of programmes in other engineering and creative industry-related fields, as well as internships to enrich young people’s learning experiences and prepare them facing professional opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
