Announcement of New Directorate Appointments
Ir Dr HUI Yan-keung John
Ir Dr HUI has been appointed as Senior Assistant Executive Director. He assumes the role of Director of the Digital Future Office and concurrently as Academic Director of the Information Technology (IT) Discipline. He is responsible primarily for steering the strategic initiative of digitalization projects, as well as leading the strategic development of the IT Discipline.
Ir Dr Hui possesses extensive experience in leading digital transformation and delivery of innovative solutions in the public sector and higher education institutions. Prior to this appointment, he had served leading IT roles in local universities and a global IT services company. He is active within professional institutions and industry associations and sits on various committees of The Hong Kong Computer Society including the Council, CIO Board, and iLEAP.
Ir Dr Hui holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (The University of Hong Kong), a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Hong Kong Baptist University), and a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science (The City University of Hong Kong). His professional engineering qualifications/memberships include Member of Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE), Fellow of Hong Kong Computer Society (HKCS), and Member of Hong Kong Professionals and Senior Executives Association (HKPASA).
Dr LAU Wing-tong Tommy
Dr LAU has been appointed as Assistant Executive Director. He assumes the role of Vice-Principal of Hotel and Tourism Institute (HTI), Chinese Culinary Institute (CCI) and International Culinary Institute (ICI), and Deputy Academic Director of the Hospitality Discipline. He is responsible for supervising management of the campuses and assisting the Principal in strategic planning for and development of the institutes and also the development of the Discipline.
Dr LAU possesses extensive experience in the hospitality industry. He also possesses substantial training experience in the hospitality industry in governmental and private training institutes, restaurants, hotels as well as private member clubs. Prior to this appointment, he had served senior executive roles in 5-star hotels, overseeing a number of food and beverage outlets serving national cuisines of different countries.
Dr LAU holds a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Catering Management (Hong Kong Polytechnic University), a Master’s Degree in Hotel and Tourism Management (Hong Kong Polytechnic University) and a Doctor of Business Administration (The University of New Castle, Australia). He also holds a Diploma of Wine and Spirit Education Trust and a Diploma of Sommelier Studies of ASI Sommelier Association.
Mr YEUNG Cheuk-kei Keith
Mr YEUNG has been appointed as Assistant Executive Director. He assumes the role of Head of Information Technology (IT) Services Division. He is responsible for leading the Division to nurture and manage a secure and effective IT platform for effective teaching and learning, as well as business operations.
Mr YEUNG is a seasoned IT management professional who possesses extensive experience in driving digital transformation and technological innovation for business in enhancing corporate agility and efficiency. Prior to this appointment, Mr YEUNG had served various IT leadership roles in multinational companies, a local public body and a local non-profit making organization.
Mr YEUNG holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering (The Chinese University of Hong Kong) and a Master’s degree in Information Engineering (The Chinese University of Hong Kong). He is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) of the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC2).
