Announcement of New Directorate Appointment

Mr YU Kwok-chu, Edmond

Mr YU Kwok-chu, Edmond has been appointed as Deputy Executive Director to oversee VTC’s policy areas of quality assurance and accreditation, learning and teaching, institutional advancement and alumni engagement. He is also leading the strategic development of the Hospitality and Student Development Disciplines, continuing & further education programmes, as well as vocational training for people with disabilities and students with special educational needs.

Mr YU possesses extensive experience in business development, organisation management, vocational and professional education and training (VPET). Prior to this appointment, he had held a number of senior management positions in multinational corporations and in different operational units of the Council, including the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Haking Wong), Headquarters (Academic Services), and the Hotel and Tourism Institute, the Chinese Culinary Institute and the International Culinary Institute.

Mr YU holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Financial Management and Computer Science (University of Sheffield) and a Master’s degree in Business Administration (Cardiff Business School, the University of Wales). He is a Professional Member of the Institute of Purchasing and Supply of Hong Kong.
