The Vocational Training Council (VTC) will host the VTC Programme Selection Info Day on 20 and 21 May (Friday and Saturday) in an online and hybrid format to assist candidates in planning their progression pathways after the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (DSE). Secondary 6 students and parents will be able to gain first-hand information on VTC’s diversified programme options leading to awards at different levels including Bachelor’s Degree, Higher Diploma, Diploma of Foundation Studies and Diploma of Vocational Education. Statistical analysis of further studies, information on programme selection and interactive Q&A sessions will be made available to help students plan for their further studies.
Online discipline/programme talks will be featured during the two-day event, where the teaching teams will be invited from different disciplines or programmes to elaborate on their offerings so that students can better understand the latest programme features, entrance requirements, progression pathways and professional development. Interactive online Q&A sessions will also be available, at which the Education Advisor/teaching team will address enquiries about further studies from students and parents.
Other highlights of the Info Day include the VTC Programme Selection Talk to be held on 21 May (Saturday, 2:00 pm), featuring a dialogue between popular disc jockey Ah Jeng (Bonnie WONG) and Raymond KWOK, Senior Assistant Executive Director of VTC. Together, they will analyse last year’s statistics of further studies, discuss programme selection strategies, and explain VTC’s programme features, progression options and career prospects. On the same day, a Parents’ Talk will be held, at which Hok Yau Club’s Student Guidance Consultant NG Po-shing will take the audience through the post-DSE study pathways and share with parents how to help their children deal with the pressure when DSE results are released.
The VTC Programme Selection Talk and Parents’ Talk on 21 May will be held both online and offline, with the physical event to be held at the Haking Wong Campus of the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE).
