VTC holds the 2024 Graduation Ceremonies to confer awards to over 13,000 graduates

The Vocational Training Council (VTC) held its 2024 graduation ceremonies with over 13,000 graduates from various VTC member institutions conferred awards ranging from Bachelor’s Degree, Higher Diploma, Diploma of Foundation Studies, Diploma of Vocational Education, Diploma to Certificate. The ceremonies are being held on 26, 27, 30 November and 7 December at VTC member institutions, including the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi), the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE), the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI), the Maritime Services Training Institute (MSTI), the Hotel and Tourism Institute (HTI), the Chinese Culinary Institute (CCI), the International Culinary Institute (ICI) and Youth College.
Secretary for Education Dr CHOI Yuk-lin congratulated all the graduates in a pre-recorded speech and expressed gratitude towards the VTC and other organisations offering learning and training opportunities for their dedication to nurturing the younger generation. Dr CHOI highlighted the Government's commitment to youth development and strengthening the positioning of vocational and professional education and training (VPET) in tertiary level with ongoing enhancement of progression pathway. Dr CHOI assured the Government’s continued support to VTC for equipping young people with future-ready knowledge and skills and cultivating skilled talent for the national development of new quality productive forces. She encouraged graduates to embrace a life-long learning journey with their passion and perseverance on VPET and make contribution to the society and the country with their expertise.
VTC Chairman Mr Tony TAI emphasised the emerging opportunities for graduates to excel on unique career paths with the acquired professional knowledge and skills amidst Hong Kong’s economic restructuring. He reiterated the VTC’s commitment to opening up desirable development opportunities for young people through ongoing efforts in expanding the breadth and depth of VPET. He was delighted to see students applying skills for the betterment of society and convey positive messages about VPET to the public. Mr TAI also invited graduates to join the propelling force in VPET as they return to VTC for further education and supporting the younger students. Meanwhile, Executive Director Mr Donald TONG took the opportunity to thank industry partners for their recognition to VTC and support to students’ all-rounded development. He wished that graduates will remain passionate for learning and be confident for the future, while becoming pragmatic, agile professionals and responsible citizens.
