“The Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships - Vocational Education Scholarship Awardee Sharing Session 2021” was held successfully on 7 September 2021 at the Happy Valley Stand, Happy Valley Racecourse.  The awardees mingled with fellow scholars from current and previous cohorts, while three new awardees orchestrated the event as the Masters of Ceremony.  Ms Winnie Yip, Executive Manager, Charities (Grant Making – Arts, Culture, Heritage and Talent Development) of The Hong Kong Jockey Club, encouraged students to pursue their dreams with passion and return proud to serve our communities.  Ms Bowie Lam, Founder and Executive Director of Teen’s Key Hong Kong, The Hong Kong Jockey Club Chicago Booth Executive MBA Scholar (Cohort 2018) was invited as a guest speaker to share her beliefs and quest of establishing an NGO helping underprivileged teens.

Two VTC alumni who completed their bachelor degree programmes overseas under the Scholarship also shared their life learning from the Scholarship.  Mr Martin Chan, engineering graduate of University of Sheffield, and Mr Larry Tse, architecture design graduate of Oxford Brookes University, revealed their secrets of maximizing exposures in their study journeys.  Ms Winne Ngan, Director of the Institutional Advancement Office of VTC, expressed her sincere gratitude for the generosity of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.  Since 2016/17, the Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarships have supported more than 70 graduates from the Diploma of Vocational Education to pursue further studies at Higher Diploma and also 15 graduates of Higher Diploma to pursue further studies at overseas degree programmes in the fields of Aerospace, Marine, Environmental, Architecture, Design and Hospitality.
