Re-donation from Wu Jieh Yee Charitable Foundation for Bursary and Scholarship and Naming of “Tai Ning Conference Rooms”

Wu Jieh Yee Charitable Foundation has been a staunch supporter of VTC to develop Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) since 2013, including the establishment of “Wu Jieh Yee Bursary” and supporting the development of the Chinese medicine pharmacy laboratory “Herbal Heritage Hub” at Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi). This year, the Foundation continued to support VTC needy students through “Wu Jieh Yee Bursary” with a further donation of HK$4.5 Million. In addition, “Wu Ho Loo Ning Scholarship” was set up to support Diploma of Vocational Baccalaureate (DVB) students of Youth College International to articulate to the degree studies in THEi to progress upwards along the VPET articulation pathway.  
 
In recognition of the long-standing support from the Wu Jieh Yee Charitable Foundation, the twin conference rooms of the VTC Tower were named as “Tai Ning Conference Rooms” in memory of the late Dr. and Mrs. Wu Jieh Yee. The Naming Ceremony was held on 29 Oct 2021. Dr. Philip Wu, BBS, JP, Secretary of the Foundation, as well as Mr. Jason Wu and Mr. Victor Chan, Governors of the Foundation attended the event and met the students, parents and teachers. Mr. Jason Wu appreciated the multiple pathways offered by the VTC through the think-and-do learning approach and it aligned with the mission of the Charitable Foundation of promoting education. In his welcoming remarks, Prof. Eric Yim, the Deputy Chairman of the VTC, thanked the Foundation for the continuous support to VPET development of VTC. He encouraged VTC students to inherit the positive spirit of the late Dr Wu Jieh Yee and contribute to society with their professionalism.
