Bright Future Charitable Foundation – Outstanding Toy Design Scholarship 2023

The selection for the third cohort of the "Bright Future Charitable Foundation – Outstanding Toy Design Scholarship" took place on 13 November 2023 at Hong Kong Design Institute. The judging panel, including Dr Roy Chung, the generous donor of the Scholarship, Ms Elizabeth Yip, an entrepreneur from the toy industry, and the academic team of product design, provided invaluable feedback and insights on the students’ understanding of design enhancements for toys and product commercialization.

Eleven (11) groups of students who showcased outstanding design talent and creativity in the final round of selection were awarded scholarships. Among the awardees, we are thrilled to highlight the exceptional toy design, the "POP KIT" game, created by students Chan Wing Yin and Gao Zhongwen. This design stood out for its incredible creativity and enjoyable gameplay. Inspired by the theme of cats and fish, the “POP KIT” sparks imagination with its adorable and engaging concepts. Players engage in the challenge of spinning the cat pattern wheel to complete their mission and collect the fish by skillfully using the cat paws to push out all the spun cats. The toy promises endless fun for players of all ages and captured the hearts of the judging panel.
