VTC Earn & Learn Scheme

VTC Earn & Learn Scheme integrates structured classroom learning with on-the-job training, providing young people with a clear career progression pathway and preparing them to join those trades and industries with great manpower demand.

The Government and the participating industries will provide an allowance and a guaranteed salary. Participants can earn a steady income while acquiring knowledge and developing skills to pursue a Bright Future.

The Scheme covers a wide spectrum of trades and industries and is flexibly designed to cater for specific needs of industries. In addition to classroom learning, participants will also receive on-the-job training from their employers. Graduates can also opt to pursue further studies to acquire higher academic qualifications, making progress both in their career and studies.

Scheme Details

Every student receives an allowance and a guaranteed salary from Government and employers. Upon graduation, participants are awarded a recognized qualification, equipped with professional knowledge and skills as well as practical working experience. Graduates will be awarded Diploma of Vocational Education, Diploma of Foundation Studies or Higher Diploma according to their programme choice, in which equivalent to the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework Level 3 and Level 4 respectively. Graduates can pursue further studies to acquire higher qualification and become a professional in the field.

With extensive industry support, over 300 trades and industries have participated. Wide coverage of professional and high demand industries from engineering and technology, transportation, design, jewellery, creative industry, healthcare, testing and certification etc. It offers an valuable opportunity for the teenagers to develop their career in these potential industries.

Tuition Fee

Tuition fee exemption for Secondary 3 to 5 school leavers. Secondary 6 graduates have to pay for relevant programme tuition fee but will receive allowance from employer and the Government.
