Honorary Fellowships

Sr Dr Peter NG Yau-yee is an experienced quantity surveyor and businessman, with over 40 years’ experience in the construction industry. He is the Founder of Beria Consultants Limited with offices in Hong Kong, Macau, Shenzhen, Chengdu, and Sydney, employing over 180 staff, and is a Registered Construction Manager and Registered Professional Surveyor in Hong Kong, Registered Cost Engineer in China as well as a Certified Quantity Surveyor in Australia. Dr Ng is a Fellow Member of several professional associations including the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors, Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors, Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers, and the Chartered Institute of Building. He is also the Honorary President of Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers.
 

Dr Ng serves the community in various capacities including the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in China-Sichuan, as an Executive Member, Member of the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency (HKQAA) governing council, and an Adjunct Associate Professor of HKU SPACE and an Adjunct Professor of Sichuan Changjiang Vocational Institute.
 

Dr Ng has a long-time association with VTC. He was previously the Chairman (2007-2013) and a Member of the Building and Civil Engineering Training Board* (BCTB), and served for many years as the Convener of the BCTB’s Manpower Survey Working Party (2009-2019). He was also a former Member of the Engineering Discipline Advisory Board (2009-2017) and the VTC Higher Education Advisory Committee (2015-2017). Dr Ng is currently an Adjunct Professor of the Faculty of Design and Environment at THEi. He contributed to the development and launch of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Surveying programme at THEi in the year 2014/15. Being the industry member of the Internal Validation Panel of the programme, he assisted in validation of the programme and sought the recognition and accreditation of the programme by the relevant industry and professional bodies. Dr Ng’s all-around dedication is also seen in supporting the Youth Construction Discovery Challenge (2011-2012), providing internship, employment and attachment opportunities to students, graduates and staff, as well as speaking in professional sharing sessions.
