Honorary Fellowships

Prof CHEUNG Siu-wing is currently Industrial Professor of The University of Warwick. Prof Cheung possesses over 25 years’ experience in management, education, information technology and engineering disciplines and has served several other major corporations and institutions, including AT&T Bell Lab, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and The Hong Kong Plastics Technology Centre.
 

Prof Cheung was the Founding Secretary of the Professional Validation Council of Hong Kong Industries and had led several Innovation and Technology Fund projects. He was also the chief editor of “Plastics Network” and “Directory of Hong Kong Plastics Industry”. Prof Cheung was awarded honorary titles of Industrial Fellow and Industrial Professor in 2000 and 2008 respectively by The University of Warwick. He is actively involved in business consultancy both locally and overseas, and is advisor for several listed companies and international corporations.
 

Prof Cheung is member of several professional bodies, including Engineering Council (UK), The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers, British Computer Society, and Institution of Engineering and Technology.
 

With Prof Cheung’s staunch support, the VTC has been collaborating with WMG, The University of Warwick since 2009. Currently three Master of Science Degree (MSc) programmes are jointly offered by the VTC and WMG, in Programme and Project Management, in International Technology Management, as well as in Service Management and Design. Prof Cheung also introduced the first Patent course in the MSc Programmes of WMG, together with Hong Kong Institute of Patent Attorneys in collaboration with the VTC. Prof Cheung’s effort in this front has helped the VTC to chart new waters in VPET at the postgraduate levels, which has opened up valuable progression pathways for VTC graduates as well as the general public. Such collaboration has also broadened the horizon and exposure of staff and students through exchange of knowledge with overseas experts, and has expanded the student mix by including students from a wider international community.
