    Ms Linda YIP Wai-mun was conferred the VTC Honorary Fellowship by Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr CHEUK Wing-hing, GBS, JP

    Ms Linda YIP is a guru and leader in the hairstyling industry. She founded numerous professional associations to promote the sound development of the industry and support talent development through the Linda Yip Charitable Foundation. Ms Yip founded the Linda Beauty Group in 1979, which is the largest manufacturer of mannequins around the world. She also established the Asia Hair Masters Association (AHMA) in 2010 to pull the forces together for the development of the Asian hairstyling scene.
     

    Ms Yip was awarded the Industry Outstanding Contribution Award by ASEAN International Leading Organisation in 2017, and the Top Ten Outstanding Women Entrepreneurs in China in 2015 and 2017.
     

    Ms Yip is currently a Member of the VTC Beauty Care and Hairdressing Training Board. With her continuous scholarship donations and sponsorship since 2010 through her Charitable Foundation, her contribution has benefited the VTC students over the years, including the provision of internship and career opportunities to the students of Design Discipline.
     

    With the support of Ms Yip, the "Image Lab 360" was established in the HKDI in 2015. The Lab has offered internship to students and employed the VTC graduates to work as full-time make-up and hair stylists, photographers and stylists. Her Charitable Foundation has also sponsored the "Image Lab 360 Best Fashion Styling Award" in the annual image show of the HKDI.
     

    Ms Yip established the AHMA Pro Aesthetics & Management Academy (AAMA Academy) in Foshan which benefited the VTC students and graduates to extend their careers in the Greater Bay Area. She also offered industrial attachment opportunities to the teaching staff of the HKDI to help widen the talents of fashion image students.
     

    Since 2019, the AAMA Academy has collaborated with iD-Hub of the HKDI to regularly publish the latest image trend online. The AAMA Academy also organises workshops and demonstrations by regional and international renowned stylists to share the latest image design techniques with students, which help them understand the current industry practice and enhance their hairstyling techniques for future career development.
