Mr Rudolf GREINER was conferred the VTC Honorary Fellowship by Secretary for Labour and Welfare Mr Matthew CHEUNG, GBS, JP at Graduation Ceremony 2013

Mr Rudolf GREINER is a top hotelier with over 40 years’ experience in Asia, Mexico, North America and Europe. He was formerly President and Chief Operating Officer of Regent International Hotels. During his term as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for Furama Hotel Enterprises Limited, he established Majestic International Hotels with hotel portfolios in Northern and Southern China and Vietnam. He has held senior executive positions overseeing the development, technical services and operations at Swissôtel, Leela Venture Group, and Hilton Hotels. As President of the hotel division of Sun Hung Kai Properties, he oversaw the expansion of the group’s portfolio including The Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton and W Hotels in Hong Kong and Ritz-Carlton and W Hotels in Shanghai. Mr Greiner is widely respected as an innovator and strategist and is known for his commitment to the development of vocational education and training programmes.
 

Mr Greiner has always been a staunch supporter for the development of hospitality industry and the VTC over the years. He served the Hotel, Catering and Tourism Training Board as a member from 1985 to 1989 and has been an advisor for the Board since 2007. Mr Greiner has provided invaluable advice and leadership in assessing manpower training and development requirements of the industry, curriculum planning and development, and other work of the Board.
 

Mr Greiner has devoted great efforts to supporting and guiding the establishment of the Hospitality Industry Training and Development Centre (HITDC) and the Chinese Cuisine Training Institute (CCTI), including the development of the wine laboratory, the training spa, the Tin Shui Wai Training Centre, the T-Hotel and the International Culinary Institute in recent years. Mr Greiner relentlessly facilitated the projects by liaising with industry partners and the Government. He is also an Honorary Adviser of the English-Speaking Dining Society of the HITDC and CCTI.
