Mr Robert LAI Kai-tung was conferred the VTC Honorary Fellowship by Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr CHEUK Wing-hing, GBS, JP

Mr Robert LAI is the Managing Director of the Pro-Technic Machinery Group, which imports various precision machinery from all over the world and provides high standard pre-sales and after-sales services.
 

Mr Lai has been serving on the VTC Innovation and Technology Training Board for five years and has been the Chairman of the VTC Innovation and Technology Training Board since 2021. He is also the Convenor of the Course Vetting Panel of the Reindustrialisation and Technology Training Programme (RTTP) of the VTC Innovation and Technology Training Board. He has given valuable advice on vetting courses registered under the RTTP and enriching the varieties of training in emerging technologies. Talents of local companies are funded by the RTTP to receive advanced technology training and assist them in upgrading their technological level and implementing more technological applications for their businesses, which also benefiting the economy of Hong Kong. Mr Lai has demonstrated his professional expertise and excellent leadership skills in directing the panel to accomplish the task.
 

Mr Lai is enthusiastic about and supportive to the work of the VTC Innovation and Technology Training Board. He is the Convenor of the Working Party on Manpower Survey and the Working Party on Promoting Innovation and Technology. He offers valuable and professional advice on the manpower requirements and training needs of the innovation and technology sector.
 

Mr Lai has been very supportive to VPET and the VTC. As one of the participating organisations of Industry Partner Collaboration Scheme of the VTC STEM Education Centre, his company generously donated professional-grade 3D printers to the Centre to promote STEM education and encourage the exchange of ideas within the industry and academic circles. With the donation, students can experience the procedures of 3D printing technology in realising their creative designs. This has enabled more students to be inspired with STEM learning and equipped for the innovative and smart city.
 

Furthermore, his company has given donations to the VTC Outstanding Industrial Attachment Scholarships Scheme and the VTC Design Education Fund.
