Mr KUOK Hoi-sang, MH was conferred the VTC Honorary Fellowship by Secretary for Development, Mr Michael WONG Wai-lun, JP

With over 50 years’ experience in the construction and engineering industry, Mr KUOK Hoi-sang actively facilitates the development of the industry. He has served in a number of associations and committees, including the Chairman of the Executive Board of the Hong Kong Real Property Federation, the Honorable Founding President of the Registered Specialist Trade Contractors Federation, the President of the Lift and Escalator Contractors Association (LECA), the Chairman of the International Association of Elevator Engineers (Hong Kong – China Branch), the Vice President of the Hong Kong Federation of Electrical and Mechanical Contractors Limited, the Lift and Escalator Safety Advisory Committee, the Written Examination Committee for registration of lift/escalator engineers of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD), and the Task Force on Site Safety of Working in Lift Shaft of Construction Industry Council.
 

In 2016, Mr Kuok was awarded the Medal of Honour by the HKSAR Government for his dedicated public service. He was a Member of the Guangzhou Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the Election Committee of the Chief Executive of the HKSAR.
 

Mr Kuok supports VTC in the pursuit of its vision and mission on training and talent development, including the development of Professional Diploma Meister in Lift and Escalator Engineering and Certificate in Lift and Escalator Engineering. He jointly developed a Virtual Reality Lift Maintenance Simulator with EMSD, LECA and VTC. This project was awarded the “The 19th Hong Kong Occupational Safety & Health Award - Gold Award” in the OSH Enhancement Program Award section and “The Hong Kong ICT Awards 2020 - Certificate of Merit” in the Smart Business (Solution for Business and Public Sector Enterprise) Award section.
 

Under his leadership, Chevalier Group has established the “Chevalier Group Scholarship” to recognise outstanding VTC students and nurture talent in 2019. Over 400 students have benefited from industrial attachment opportunities offered by the Chevalier Group, which has helped drive sustainable development of the construction and engineering industry.
