Mr Johnny YEUNG Chi-hung, MH was conferred the VTC Honorary Fellowship by Acting Secretary for Innovation and Technology Dr David CHUNG Wai-keung, JP

Mr Johnny YEUNG Chi-hung is a seasoned industrialist with over 40 years’ experience in the electronics and acoustics industry. His accomplishments in the industry have won him a string of honours, including the Director Of The Year Award (2007) from the Hong Kong Institute of Directors, the Honorary Fellowship (2004) from the Professional Validation Council of Hong Kong Industries (PVCHKI), and appointment as the Industrial Fellow (2011) by the University of Warwick. He is the Life President of PVCHKI, the Honorary Chairman of the Hong Kong Electronics Industries Association and an Executive Committee Member of the 41st General Committee of the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong.
 

Mr Yeung is dedicated to community services and supporting education. He is a Current Advisor (the 52nd Term) of the Yan Chai Hospital and the Vice-president of the President’s Club (2019-2021) of Wong Tai Sin District Healthy and Safe City. In 2000, Mr Yeung made a donation in the name of his wife to found the G.T. (Ellen Yeung) College in Hong Kong to nurture future leaders of society, and served as the Chairman of its Board of Governors in 2019. In 2012, Mr Yeung was appointed as a member of SC.Net by the Labour and Welfare Bureau. Mr Yeung was conferred the University Fellowship (2013/14) of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
 

Mr Yeung is also a staunch supporter of vocational and professional education and training (VPET). He served on the Electronics and Telecommunications Training Board of the VTC as a Member (2002-2008) and the Chairman (2013-2019). During his terms of service on the Training Board, Mr Yeung served as the Convener of the Working Party on VPET and contributed to the development of VTC programmes and services to meet the changing needs of the industry. Since 2009, Mr Yeung has donated various scholarships to the VTC including the Dr NG Tat-lun Memorial Outstanding Students Award Scheme to recognise all-round achievers among the VTC students. Mr Yeung also generously contributed donations to the Outstanding Industrial Attachment Scholarship and the VTC Design Education Fund to benefit many other VTC students.
