Mr Conrad WONG Tin-cheung, JP was conferred the VTC Honorary Fellowship by the Council Chairman Mr Andrew LEUNG, SBS, JP at Graduation Ceremony 2009

Mr Conrad WONG Tin-cheung, JP is the President of Hong Kong Construction Association (HKCA), the First Vice President of the International Federation of Asian & Western Pacific Contractors’ Association, and the Chairman of the Pneumoconiosis Compensation Fund Board. He also serves as a Member of the Construction Industry Council, Member of the Occupational Safety and Health Council as well as the Director of the Hong Kong Green Building Council. He is the Vice Chairman of Yau Lee Holdings Limited, the Managing Director of Yau Lee Construction Company Limited and the Vice Chairman of REC Engineering Company Limited.
 

Successful in business, Mr Wong is also passionate about construction. Over the years, Mr Wong has endeavoured to promoting good practices, raising standard and awareness of occupational safety and health, introducing green construction technologies and enhancing fair practices for construction contracts so as to develop a healthy, professional and effective construction industry. Under his leadership, HKCA maintains a close working relationship with Government departments, professional institutions, subcontractors’ associations, labour unions and training authorities. Recently, Mr Wong has spearheaded the Construction Charity Fund to help families of victims in fatal construction accidents.
 

Mr Wong has rendered tireless support to the work of VTC. He advocates manpower training for the sustainable development of the construction industry. Through HKCA, he initiated scholarships for Higher Diploma students of the Construction Discipline, aiming to encourage aspiring youngsters to join the construction industry and to nurture them to become the backbone of the industry in the near future.
