Lady Ivy WU KWOK Sau-ping, JP was conferred the VTC Honorary Fellowship by Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr CHEUK Wing-hing, GBS, JP

Lady Ivy WU has served as the Chairman and Member of the advisory boards of numerous charitable organisations, including the Hong Kong Red Cross, Red Cross Society of China, Governing Committee of Tsan Yuk Hospital, Hong Kong Federation of Women, Hong Kong Chinese Women’s Club, Asia Society Hong Kong Centre, Asian Cultural Council Hong Kong, Yan Chai Hospital, Po Leung Kuk, Maryknoll Medical and Welfare Association, The University of Hong Kong Foundation.
 

The Red Cross awarded Lady Wu the Badge of Honour for Devoted Service in 1991 and the Badge of Honour for Distinguished Service in 1995. She was also awarded the Dean’s Award for Community Services and Honorary Fellowship from the University of Hong Kong in 1996 and 2001 respectively, the Dedication and Outstanding Leadership Award from the Hospital Authority in 2002, and the Director of the Year Award from the Hong Kong Institute of Directors in 2008. In 2002, Lady Wu was appointed the Justice of the Peace, and she has been the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Croatia Honorary Consulate in Hong Kong since 2014.
 

Lady Wu and her family have extended generous support to numerous education bodies in Hong Kong and overseas. Under the Hopewell Charitable Foundation, Lady Wu made donations to support students of the Hospitality Discipline of the VTC in various scholarship and award schemes, including the VTC Outstanding Student Award and Best Improvement Award; cross-border and overseas visits and exchanges, competitions and industrial attachment; training at the Hotel and Tourism Institute, International Culinary Institute, and Chinese Culinary Institute for financially needy students; training for chefs to obtain professional qualifications; top-up degree scholarships to support further education in local and overseas universities. Lady Wu also provided overseas graduate employment opportunities for the VTC students to develop their global vision, and offered donations to support the further study of financially needy students across different Disciplines of the VTC.
 

Facing the pandemic, Lady Wu stretches out to support those students in need and continues her family’s zeal for philanthropy.
