Dr Allen SHI Lop-tak, BBS, MH, JP was conferred the VTC Honorary Fellowship by Secretary for Development, Mr Michael WONG Wai-lun, JP

A distinguished, renowned industrialist and entrepreneur, Dr Allen SHI Lop-tak is the President of the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, a Council Member of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and a Member of the Commerce and Economic Development Bureau Task Force on External Relations. Dr Shi holds Fellows and Honorary Doctorates from several local and overseas institutions and has just been admitted as the Honorary Fellow of the City University of Hong Kong in 2021.
 

Dr Shi is committed to serving the community, supporting youth education and serving in various public bodies. He was the President of Hong Kong Young Industrialist Council Foundation, a Council Member of the Hong Kong Productivity Council, a Member of Guangxi Autonomous Region of Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a Councillor of Wong Tai Sin District Council, the Chairman of Merchants Support for Rehabilitated Offenders Committee, and was once the Chairman of Yan Oi Tong. Awarded the Medal of Honour in 2007, he was appointed as a Justice of the Peace in 2010 and awarded the Bronze Bauhinia Star Award by the Government of the HKSAR in 2017 for his meritorious contributions, particularly to the industrial development of Hong Kong and the promotion of offender rehabilitation and equestrian sport for youth.
 

Dr Shi has long supported VTC and served on the Printing and Publishing Training Board as a Member from 2011 to 2017, during which he was also a Member of its Working Party on Skills Competition. He made continual donations to support various VTC awards and funding schemes, including the Outstanding Industrial Attachment Scholarship, the VTC Design Education Fund and the Student Development Foundation for supporting a variety of student development activities.
