Honorary Fellowships

Dr Albert MA Hon-ning is an accomplished businessman and has remained a staunch supporter of further education and training throughout the years. Currently Chairman and Managing Director of Hong Kong LP Gas (Holdings) Limited, he sits on the Gas Safety Advisory Committee of the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department as a member. He is also Council Member and Executive Committee Member of the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA) and School Supervisor of HKMA College of Further Education.
 

Dr Ma was among the first to advocate recognising prior learning experience to facilitate the continuous lifelong education among the workforce. He has steered the development of lifelong education in his support of the Qualifications Framework, launched in 2008 to help Hong Kong residents set clear goals and directions in continuous learning to obtain quality-assured qualifications.
 

Deeply involved in philanthropic work, Dr Ma has made financial contributions, over the years, to benefit the needy students of the VTC. In 2007, he established the CYMA Charity Fund Scholarship to benefit hundreds of academically deserving students under the Council. Dr Ma’s generous support has also extended to the VTC Student Development Foundation, a newly-established fund to facilitate the holistic development of students through local and overseas visits, various classroom-bound and outdoor projects, along with other educational activities.
