worldwide Competitions
To promote students’ all-round development and extend
their international outlook, we encourage them to participate
in local and overseas competitions such as the WorldSkills
Hong Kong, WorldSkills Competition and Robocon Contest.
In 2012, a team of teaching staff and students from the
Department of Engineering at IVE competed at the Shell Eco-
marathon Asia 2012 in Malaysia with their self-developed
solar-powered Vehicle SOPHIE and brought back the first
runner-up award. Our students participated in Guangzhou/
Hong Kong/Macao/Chengdu Youth Skills Competition in the
same year, and won the championship of the Window Display
Design trade.
international Collaborations
To facilitate staff and student mobility, the VTC has actively
established strategic alliances and sought partnerships with
like-minded institutions.
During the year, we have entered into Memoranda of
Understanding with JTB (HK) Ltd., Hackney Community
College, UK, and University of West London, UK for staff
and student exchange collaborations. Several signature
exhibitions including “German Design Standards – From
Bauhaus to Globalisation”, D&AD Awards 2012 – Winners
and Colours of Asia were organised by HKDI and IVE (Lee Wai
Lee) in collaboration with renowned international institutes
and organisations.

為促進全人發展及擴闊國際視野，我們鼓勵
學生參加本地及國際比賽包括香港青年技能
大賽、世界技能大賽及全港大專生機械人大
賽等。

攜手協作
VTC
積極與各地培訓機構結成策略伙伴，透過
伙伴協作，促進師生於國際間的流動機會。
年內，我們與佳天美香港有限公司、英國
赫克尼社區學院及西倫敦大學等簽訂了合
作備忘錄，促進師生的交流合作。
