Youth College Interview Day (23 March)
-
Youth College, a member institution of the Vocational Training Council (VTC), will hold an Interview Day on 23 March (Saturday) at Youth College (Kwai Fong), targeting Secondary 3 to 5 students who can apply for the Diploma of Vocational Education programmes (DVE) and Vocational Baccalaureate Programmes (VB) of their choice on site. Interviews will be conducted and applicants will be notified of results on the same day.
To help students develop themselves in directions suited to their personal interests, Youth College is providing a total of 17 full-time DVE programmes for Secondary 3 to 5 students in academic year 2019/20, under three major study areas: Business and Services, Engineering, and Design and Information Technology. A balanced curriculum covering generic, vocational and student development modules is offered with a flexible system of multiple entry and exit pathways to nurture students’ all-round abilities and pave the way for their further study and career.
Upon completion of a DVE programme, graduates can seek employment or further study. DVE award holders can apply for VTC Higher Diploma programmes (except those with specific requirements). Graduates applying for specific DVE programmes can join the VTC Earn & Learn Scheme that integrates structured classroom learning with on-the-job training, allowing them to earn a stable salary at the same time as studying.
Elements of project-based and work-integrated learning have been newly added to DVE programmes to enhance the communication and problem-solving skills of students for better workplace competitiveness.
VB programmes concurrently provide both local and internationally-recognised study options for post-Secondary 3 students, with English as the medium of instruction and assessment. Students will take modules in IGCSE-level English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics. Referencing international benchmarks, programmes leading to the award of the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma will be offered, and students can choose from the two study areas of Engineering and Design. Upon conferment of their VB, graduates can progress to degree studies in Hong Kong and abroad, or degree and higher diploma programmes provided by member institutions of VTC.
Youth College is a member of the VTC Group. It provides young people above Secondary 3 level with an interactive learning environment and flexible progression pathways.
