Ms Monica LEE-MÜLLER was conferred the VTC Honorary Fellowship by Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Professor K C CHAN, GBS, JP at Graduation Ceremony 2016

Ms Monica LEE-MÜLLER is one of Hong Kong’s foremost ambassadors in the global Meeting, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition (MICE) industry, and a proven industry veteran in the hospitality industry for over 30 years. She has been the Managing Director of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (HML) since July 2012.


Ms Lee-Müller has held a number of senior positions in various international hotels in Hong Kong and was a member of the opening team of the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, where she established and managed one of the earliest convention operations in Hong Kong.
 

An active facilitator of the MICE industry, Ms Lee-Müller is currently a Board Member of UFI – The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, and an Executive Committee member of the Hong Kong Exhibition & Convention Industry Association. She has been appointed as member of the Working Group on Convention and Exhibition Industries and Tourism under the Economic Development Commission of the HKSAR Government. She is also past Vice Chairperson of the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) Hong Kong Chapter.


Ms Lee-Müller has been active in serving the community. She has been appointed as a member of the Board of the Ocean Park Corporation by the HKSAR Government, also a member of the Board of Trustees of Ocean Park Conservation Foundation.


Ms Lee-Müller is passionate about nurturing young talents and serves as a member of the Advisory Committee on Hotel and Tourism Management of the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
 

Ms Lee-Müller is a close industry partner of the VTC. She has been the Chairperson of the Chinese Culinary Institute Training Board since 2015, and is currently a member of the Steering Committee of International Culinary Institute, and a member of the Hotel, Service and Tourism Studies Discipline Advisory Board of IVE. She served as the Chairperson of the Languages Discipline Advisory Board of VTC during the terms of 2010 to 2016. Ms Lee-Müller was also previously Visiting Professor of the Hotel, Service and Tourism Studies Discipline, and has been very active in supporting various academic activities and events of the VTC, including industry mentorship programmes, programme validation panels, guest lectures, and career exhibitions. She has recently served as a judge for the 2016 Young Chefs Competition organised by the Chinese Culinary Institute.
