Discipline Overview of Design

Hong Kong has emerged as one of the regional creative capitals, driving innovation generates global value, opportunities and substantial economic impact.

 

In support of the government policy on nurturing the cultural and creative industries, the Design Discipline at the Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) offers quality design education. Our programmes cultivate knowledge, professionalism and emerging design talents, fostering the prosperity of the creative industries and responding to the increasing demand for design innovation in the business landscape.

 

 

Articulation

 

2+1 International Track

 

Design Discipline Higher Diploma students will have access to a 2+1 International Track, ensuring a seamless articulation to a relevant locally accredited, Hong Kong government recognised honours bachelor’s degree programme offered by designated UK universities upon successful completion of their studies. The qualification obtained is on par with a local Degree programme.

 

Students pursue their full-time top-up Degree programmes through this 2+1 International Track scheme will receive a non-means-tested annual subsidy of HK$34,390# from the Government.

Graduates have the opportunity to advance to relevant THEi Degree programmes or apply for Degree programmes offered by local and overseas universities for further studies.
